Make Your Space More Tropical with Oleander Plants! Oleander plants require minimal care. They are heat tolerant, they are drought tolerant. They are wind tolerant, and they are tolerant of coastal conditions (salt)! Oleander will naturally grow in a bush form, but it can be trained into a tree form as well. It will provide blooms from spring until end of summer. There is so much to love about the delicate flowers oleander plants produce! Your Guide to Oleander Plant Care Care: Minimal (highways love this plant for beautification because its low effort, high reward)! This plant is tolerant of drought, heat, and wind! Light: Grow and bloom best in full sun. Will tolerate light shade, however the foliage produced will not be quite as dense. Water: Water when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch. Drought tolerant, however will look better if watered during dry periods. Be very mindful not to overwater, yellow leaves are an indication of this. Temperature: Heat tolerant! When it comes to the cold, do not expose this plant to anything below 20F. Make sure to winter your plant indoors if you see temperatures below this. Oleander is considered hardy in zones 8 to 10. Humidity: Oleander prefers average humidity or about 40%. Feeding: Fertilize at the beginning of spring if the soil is poor. Oleanders generally do not need fertilization. They are not hungry plants.
